Welcome to another development update on Candyland Carnage! Over the past few weeks, we’ve been making incredible strides as we edge closer to the closed Alpha release. Here’s a breakdown of the latest updates, improvements, and sneak peeks into what’s coming next!

A New Look for Critter Skins
We’ve given all Critter skins a fresh makeover! Unique colors have been added to arms, legs, and boots, allowing each character to stand out more than ever. This update enhances individuality, making your Critter truly one of a kind. While we may refine them further based on feedback, we’re confident you’ll love the direction we’ve taken!
Character Skins Revamped
Every character’s skin variations have now been updated. For some, like the gummy bear, we went back to the drawing board to ensure their look aligned with the game’s whimsical world. The result? A cohesive and polished set of characters that seamlessly fit into the Candyland universe.
New Traits, New Possibilities
All-new character traits are textured and ready to go! They’re being added to the wardrobe as we speak, offering players even more ways to personalize their Candy Critters. Whether your character is male, female, or nonbinary, you’ll find plenty of options to create a look that’s uniquely yours.

A Fresh Main Menu Scene and Disney-Inspired Music
Our main menu has undergone a complete transformation. The redesigned background scene accommodates a broader range of maps and future updates, and early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We’ve also refreshed the background music with a chilled, Disney-esque vibe that perfectly captures the playful essence of Candyland Carnage.
Emotes: Express Yourself
What’s a Critter without personality? We’ve added a range of emotes, from bold animations to quirky, character-specific dances. These allow players to express themselves in creative, fun, and humorous ways.
Bug Fixes and Optimization
No development cycle is complete without tackling bugs and fine-tuning performance. Our movement system posed a few challenges, but thanks to Nibbles, we’re back on track. We’ve also completed another round of scene optimization, ensuring gameplay remains smooth and efficient.
Giving Characters a Voice
We’re in the process of adding unique voices to each character, giving them even more personality. Creating these quirky sound effects has been a blast, and they’re already bringing our Critters to life. Have ideas for fun dialogue or sounds? Join the conversation on our Discord!

Big Things Ahead: A Larger Level in Development
Behind the scenes, we’re building a larger level designed to support team-based modes like Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag. We’re exploring Sci-Fi and winter-themed designs — or perhaps both! Keep an eye out for teasers as this new environment takes shape.
NFT Community Collaborations
Several NFT communities have reached out, expressing interest in having their avatars featured in Candyland Carnage. These collaborations not only add unique visuals to the game but also help us reach new audiences. We’ll share more details when the time is right — stay tuned!
Elevating Animations
To enhance quality and efficiency, we’re incorporating tools like iClone into our workflow. These upgrades are already boosting animation polish, and the improvements will only continue as we refine our process.
Mobile Optimization: Download Smarter
Due to the rich content of Candyland Carnage, the file size is hefty for mobile devices. To address this, we’re working on a system that downloads content in chunks, ensuring players only get what they need when they need it. This feature will roll out further down the line.
We’re thrilled with the progress we’ve made and are even more excited about what’s to come. Your feedback and enthusiasm fuel our journey, so don’t hesitate to share your thoughts or join us on Discord to get involved in shaping Candyland Carnage!
Stay tuned for more updates — and as always, stay sweet!
